Raspberry Beret

I've been working like a madwoman on Catharine McNeal 1843. What a treat she is to stitch! I'm working my way toward the house, because it's huge and I really want to see how it comes together.

Close-up of the four-sided stitch that makes up the second alphabet. It's fiddly, but fun.

And Liz Savilles. This sampler is an easier, quicker stitch than many of the ones that I'm working on. It's fun and undemanding. The colors and posy in the center remind me of raspberries, so I've had that Prince song, Raspberry Beret, running through my head, complete with squeal. Ugh. Hee--now some of YOU will have it too....

Little Peaches has popped out to wish our Bunny blogger friend, Rabbits Guy, a speedy recovery from the 'flu. Get well soon, RG!

I'm off to make a raspberry yogurt cake (I have a bag of frozen raspberries that will make a nice addition to the plain cake I normally make. Thanks, Prince!).
Happy week ahead!

Glenna - It's because of you - yes, you - that I had to order Catherine McNeal. I just loved the colors when I saw the chart, but now I'm loving it even more now that I've seen your stitching. I can't wait until it gets here!

It doesn't take much to get Raspberry Beret into my head, Glenna (I use that song for my knitting rythm, remember?), but you're right, your sampler does remind one of raspberries. It's gor-geous. But the thistle sampler... ohhhhhh my goodness. That is a thing of beauty! That is a thing of beauty thatisathing ofbeautythathisathingofbeautymusthave. Must have. Must have.
Now will you kindly get THAT chant out of my head, please?

Okay, that's it. I demand that you share the secret of your stitchy speed! Pleeeeeease!!!!

All of your WIPs are looking just fantastic! Especially Liz. Your progress pics are making her move up the ranks of my "to stitch" list... after all... fun & undemanding are where it's at for me!! :)

We went to Woodlawn this past weekend and I was hoping I'd run into you (and somehow magically recognize you, lol!) there.

Enjoy the rest of your week!!
