Snowver

Don't you hate the dumb words the media creates? Snowmageddon. Snowverkill. Snowver. The DC area officially has had 55 inches of snow this year, and today's storm was about 12 inches of it. Woo hoo! I'm hoping for another day off--every day the government is closed, my firm is closed as well. I'm getting lots of stitching done, and lots of shoveling. The shoveling isn't worth looking at, but the stitching is: Here's the cutest chart that arrived in the one and only mail delivery we've received in about a week. It's Little by Little's Lil Bo Peep, and I ordered it from Shakespeare's Peddler's etsy shop. It came so fast that it must have flown with the snow! The start, using 40 count Lakeside Vintage something or other from my stash. It's charted for DMC, but I'm substituting (as usual). In this case I'm using NPI silks.

This is the Bo Peep chart.

And some late-night stitching on Christinia Cathcart. It's been awhile, and it's a shame. I can work on it late because it's on 32 count, which makes it a good evening project. Such bright colors.

And Holy Moses.

I left my stitching chair for a while to hack at the ice outside, and the blanket that had been on my lap was quickly taken over by a couple of the residents.

And our bunny picture today is of Fats, who lived with Alice and Bells and Nuage at Potentially Nervous. We're sad to say goodbye to Fats, who died of bad old cancer in spite of the fact that his mom moved heaven and earth to try to save him. Fats was a special bunny soul, and we're so sad to lose him. Go visit Alice, though; she has wonderful and humorous photos and videos of Fats, Nuage and Bells. We also lost our bunny friend Jellybaby a few weeks ago; we had just begun to know her.

Best wishes to all our bunny and stitchy blogger friends.

Wow! What a lot of snow! And we've had nothing in comparison! Weird!

Love your WIPs!!! All of them! You have the greatest taste in samplers to stitch! Did you know I had to buy Christina from my LNS because of you? Well it's true!

Yes, the media made-up words drive me crazy a lot of times. We have been watching a lot of the weather coverage on the evening news and are just amazed at all the snow your area and the east coast is getting. We do not even have a smidge of the snow that you all have (I don't think I have ever even seen that much snow...), but we are out of school again tomorrow.

I am sure you are enjoying all the stitching time (me too) and your projects are looking fabulous. I love the Little Bo Peep!

The cats are precious! You can tell they are squeezing in as much as they can so that they are both on the blanket. Too funny!

Great start on Lil Bo Peep Glenna! Your other wips are looking great too! Sorry about all the snow, but glad you are getting some stitching in!! :)

Happy stitching, Glenna. My friend, Nancy, gave me her Lil Bo Peep model a few months ago and I cherish it. Love Peep's dress.

What can be said ... still have snow. LOL Didn't see a plow during or after the first storm and who knows when we'll see one after this one. You gotta laugh ... and dream of tulips.

For the first time in as long as I can remember, DC is shut down, and we're not. Shut down for snow - are you KIDDING me. And we're working in Michigan. It's not right I tell you, it's just not right!
Your WIPs are wonderful - really beautiful!!

Fats was a pretty bunny, I'm sure his family will miss him.

It's still snowing and blowing here in PA!

Your works-in-progress are beautiful!

Glad to see this post... I was worried you & your furry friends lost power... glad that's not the case!! So sorry about Fats. :( He was a lovely bunny...

Love Bo Peep... I may have to snag that one for myself, for yet another project to go on Leah's walls, lol!

Moses and Christinia are looking great!

I always think it's funny how the media comes up with those hockey sayings and their warnings of dire emergencies (although I think in the case of your snow they were probably right in their warnings). I have a friend there doing some consulting work for the government - he's there, but the government is not! I think he's probably twiddling his thumbs!

Your wips are looking great. At least you can get some quality time in while Mother Nature has her hiccup with the weather thing.

Little Bo Peep is charming! and your lazy kittehs round shapes so nicely echo the round waves in Holy Moses. Do you think the BF would notice if you got another rabbit, your have so many furry bodies around the the manse anyway....We will miss the fabulous FatS too.....

I've never seen a bunny like Fats. I cannot let Max see your post or we will have another bunny. Not that I'm against that, but I doubt the landlord would be too thrilled.

Hey, that's some great stitching you're keeping busy with! I'm hoping for more snow up your way just so I can drool over all your projects!!

Sorry you received more snow! We had the same storm, however we ended up with only 4-5 inches instead of the foot they forecast!

Enjoy your extended stitching time! Your WIPs are so pretty!

Aww, it's sad to say goodbye to our furry friends.

I just bought that Lil Bo Peep chart too! I'm on a shepard/dess sheepie hunt I think.

All your WIPs are looking great.

Judging by the way your kitties are huddled together, it looks cold even inside!

Well doggone it Glenna, here you have another something that I want...you are BAD! This in fact is the second Little by Little design I've seen today that is making my clicky finger twitchy.
Hmmmm.....

Fats was a beautiful bunny, may Alice find solace in the knowledge of him living just beyond the rainbow bridge.

I love the pic of your kitties appropriating the blanket. They know when it's cold outside!

I don't envy you being snowed in, but I'm so envious of your free time off from work. Happy stitching!

I guess it's all been said! But start practicing something like ..."... snort - snow? You call THIS snow? Hmpfff ... why listen whippersnapper - back in ought-9 and '10, now THAT was SNOW. For days, nay weeks! - SNOW! Government even shut down. The President was not even seen nor heard from for several days. We lived on show leather and boiled snow."

Hi Glenna. Good thing we stocked up, eh?! I've enjoyed reading your posts, love the pictures of all the things you're stitching, and of course the requisite cute bunny pics! and the picture of the kitties cuddled into your blankie is very sweet.

All of your stitching is gorgeous, but Little by Little is one of my favorites. I hope you share your progress on this.

How sweet of your kitties to share their blanket with you! An adorable bunny photo!

Your projects are beautiful!

We have had tons of snow here in Howard County. I have done little but cook, clean, and stitch! We're lucky - no power outage.

Can't wait to see your progress pics!

I just want to thank you for wringing almost every last bit of snow out of that storm before it headed up here!
We ended up with not more than 6"- PHEW!
At least you're getting more stitching time. Love the bunny stories (well, except the sad ones..)
You know what they say "It's mid-February- the snow won't be around for long..."

Enjoy all your newly gained stitching time due to the snow situation. But I bet this is the only advantage that comes from it, lol.
Love your WIPs, particularly the Little By Little piece. I think I have that in my stash as well, and if not I'll have to buy it.

If you can believe it, it is actually snowing (a lot) in Texas! Glad you are getting a good amount of stitching in. Love Bo Peep! And Christina is amazing - love the colors. I simply have to have Holy Moses - have to have to have to. So sorry to hear about the loss of the buns.

Aww, poor Fats. What a lovely little furr ball he was...

My goodness, you're getting a LOT of stitching done. Bo Peep is gorgeous!

You have taken advantage of the snow days. This year we haven't had as much snow as we usually do but that's okay. Winter isn't over though so you never know. Great job on on the stitching. I loved that picture of the two cats. Cats do tend to steal our spots when we leave them.

Your WIPs look great, Glenna! I hope you got to spend the last day or two off of work. I called my brother on Tuesday (he's a lawyer in NoVA) and he was rather pissed off while explaining that despite his firm saying that they closed if the federal goverment closed, the firm did decide to open.

Your kitties are too cute! It looks like they know a good opportunity when they see it. ;)
