My Bunny Valentine

We're finally recovering from being snowbound here. I went to work on Friday, and aside from the mountains of snow everywhere, things are pretty much back to normal, which means no nice long days of stitching, broken up by meals and shoveling. Even so, I managed some more work on "Bo Peep." When I went to the LNS yesterday I kitted up Shepherd Care. And bought a couple of the cute new JBW design leaflets. Have you seen them? They're called "French Country--Noah's Ark" and "French Country--Houses." I also got a French country heart/Valentine which I seem to have misplaced. Oh, well; I'd be stitching it for myself anyway. I am always amazed when I see you all stitch a gift for your husbands/boyfriends, who are presumably touched by the gesture. BF would be "What the hell? What am I going to do with this? I needed a cupholder for the Corvette!" (No, he wouldn't be that rude to say such a thing, but he'd be THINKING it.) We do not typically exchange Valentine's gifts. Yesterday (to avoid the crowds) we went out to dinner (sushi), and today, to show his Valentine spirit, BF grilled me a nice filet out in the 20-degree cold. My treat for him was a pack of Heineken, a box of Red Bull and his favorite soap from the store. It was a fine Valentine's day all around.

How excited are you by the new releases coming at Market? I have decided I will NOT be taking a day off to show up at the LNS' door as I did last time (not through any self-control, but because I gave her a list of the things I wanted her to pick up for me!) In the meantime, I've ordered some older charts from various places, including Elizabeth Savilles 1841 Sampler, which you last saw on Terri's blog. I'll be using Terri's conversion, because hers turned out so beautifully. I can hardly wait to start it, which is a bad sign. If you want a copy of the chart for yourselves, I ordered it from HomespunSamplar.com; it's only $11.50 (do the search on "designer" and "Finger Work").

Progress on Lil Bo Peep:

And remember this? It's Moira Blackburn's "Keep Me."

Progress on "Keep Me." I think of this as the "Bruise" sampler with its many mauve (my least favorite color in the universe), purple, green, rust and yellow overdyed threads. I don't much like them separately, but they work well together.

The boys have just determined that they forgot to get something for Peaches for Valentine's day.
Pink: Did you get her a card at least?
Elvis: I thought you were going to get it!

Peaches: *sigh* "Men!"

Happy Valentine's day, and happy week ahead!

Love the progress on both! I really like those French Country designs - all of them. They have really cute w/o being "cutesy" designs!

Too funny re: giving the SO a piece of stitching as a gift... mine would be thinking the same thing! LOLOL!!!

Oh my goodness! I didn't need to see those French Country pieces!!! Argh!! I love your WIPs! So beautiful! I want to stitch both those pieces -- I need to buy Lil Bo Peep.... but market is coming! Ack! Anyway, sorry your idyll of snow is over. lol! I gave my LNS a list of what I want for market too. Oh boy!

Wow, your WIPs are gorgeous! I really like all the pretty colors in Keep Me.

No. I will not look at your new charts. No peeking for me! ***Gasp*** Noah's Ark! It's wonderful. OMG I looked.

Why did I have to look at your WIP? Why??? They are all gorgeous.
I have Keep Me and need to pull it out and work on it. I always enjoy visiting your blog, I get a laugh because if I gave my DH a stitched piece he wouldn't know what to do with it either. Thank me or use it as a hankerchief.

Poor Peaches. Let her know that it's the thought that counts.

I'm LMAO at your imaginary conversation with your BF regarding gifts for Valentine's Day. I was joking with Niek that he obviously wanted another little pillow from me this year. ;)

Great stitching, and lovely new stash!

Glenna, you always have interesting things up your sleeves! I hadn't seen those JBW designs before! I love your current WIP's!

And yes I'm excited about the market but I've learned to tone down my enthusiasm because anything out from the market will take at least 2 weeks to get here, if not more due to the busyness! But there are lots of interesting things! (salivating here)

Your stitching is lovely.

Beautiful progress on your stitching, Glenna! I love that Keep Me sampler.

LOL about giving your BF stitching as a gift. Mine is very complimentary and supportive of my stitching, and I think I'd get an 'oh, that's nice!', but I think he'd be thinking, "HUH???" in his head. I used to collect santas, and one year for Christmas I gave him a golfing santa, since DH is all about golf. I think the response was, "Are you serious??". Ahem. LOL He's been given Longaberger baskets, too...

Beautiful progress on both of your samplers! Thanks for sharing the new JBW French Country designs. I hadn't seen them, and I love them!

My husband loves to look at my stitching on the walls, but he wouldn't want a stitched gift either!

Great progress on your pieces!

My wallet is already screaming about market - I'll have to space out my purchases so it doesn't look so bad!

Love the new French Country charts you got. They look like a lot of fun to stitch. Not sure my dh would be blown away by a gift of stitching either. Like yours, he'd much prefer a 6 pack of beer - any kind of beer!

The "bruise" sampler - LOL!

Glad you're going to stitch Elizabeth - I can't WAIT to get it back from framing.

Those French Country pieces are so cute! Sounds like you had a lovely Valentine's Day. That Moira piece is really pretty - I think I have her Three Things chart somewhere...

Glenna - I think that there are quite a few people that have oogled over Terri's Elizabeth so much that we all want to do it (me being one of them!!!). Love those patterns you posted - I've got my eye on the Noah's Ark one as there don't seem to be many Noah patterns out there. And just love your starts - I think the Moira piece is going to be spectacular when it's finished!

"Keep Me" is coming along beautifully! That border is gorgeous but I hope that it does not give you a headache! Oh, and thanks for the tip on where to find Elizabeth Savilles. That is a beautiful piece and I would like to order it myself. Happy Stitching!

Lovely progress on your stitching.

Poor Peaches -- not even a card to chew for Valentine's Day.

I love the new JBWs you got, but my favourite of this post, by far, is Moira Blackburn. Her samplers are always beautiful, but the colours in this one... WOW!

The French Country designs are very pretty. I look forward to seeing your progress on them.

I know what you mean about the colors in the "bruise" sampler! I love the Kind Fond Love sampler I'm working on, but it has similar colors I'm not crazy about, but I like how they look in the design overall.

Oh great, you are also stitching a Moira Blackburn piece. Keep Me looks gorgeous and I'm thinking about adding it to my stash.

Sweet, sweet bunnies too :-).
