First, progress on Sarah McPhail:
How excited are we about Market? I've speculated that for all the designs we have seen and plan to acquire (my short list: Christmas at HRH, Witches Hollow, Paradise Lost, Garden of Eerie), there is a whole hidden iceberg full of tempting stitches. Note the enablement coming from the shops. This is from an email from Ellen Meyer, the most wonderful proprietor of In Stitches in Alexadria, about her trip to Market. It made my toes tingle and my wallet finger twitch just to read it: "There are approximately 3 times as many cross stitch designers. With only two days (15 hours or 900 minutes) to shop, we have about 6 minutes per room. I guess that brings a new meaning to the words “power shopping”. The new merchandise will be in the shop, priced and ready to be purchased on Wednesday, September 30th. If you cannot make it in during the day, we will have extended hours until 8pm that night." LOL! Makes me want to run down there and wait for the doors to open on Wednesday morning, but alas, I will have to wait for Saturday.
Of course, I have been avidly following the new release emails from ONS as well, and spied this from Blackberry Lane Designs via abcstitch. It's a pendant, and note the size relative to the leaf and acorn. Tiny but perfect. While I wouldn't wear it, I'd stitch it and frame it! There are other tiny pendants as well, including roses and some very cute and intricate-looking Halloween designs.
The array of choices is quite dizzying, and all I want to do these days is stitch, in spite of a full plate otherwise. Speaking of full plates, I've tried to put a little extra effort into meals, such as last night's dinner of roasted cod in panko crumbs and stewed tomatoes with cheddar dumplings. BF's reaction upon seeing the dinner: "No meat?" He was kidding of course, and hoovered it up appreciatively.
And I bought a special treat for the Buns this week: timothy hay mixed with marigold petals. They have been relatively unimpressed, which is probably just as well, because as I recall, the Perdue chickens (probably a regional company?) are fattened up on marigold petals which make them not only heavier but bright yellow. Too bad I don't have photo software; I'd tint Pink yellow here.
Sigh. Those are my choices? Hay or hay with flower petals? Go find me some water cress.
Happy week ahead, all!

Sarah's looking so pretty! You're so right about market! I just can't wait! I've been trawling the net trying to find pics of new releases. lol! I've already got some preordered too, which is bad. I love those little pendants too -- they're so cool! That's funny about the fancy food for the bunnies. Reminds me of when my son was a baby and loved him some carrots. He really did turn orangey in hue, which I didn't realize till I took him in for his checkup and the doctor commented on it. lol! Too much carrot loving!
LOL Silly bunnies don't know what's good for 'em!
Too many new designs lately, I'm overwhelmed!
Sarah is looking very pretty indeed! I'm envious of anyone who can walk into a LNS and see the new market releases. On second thought, I probably would lose my wallet! ;-)
Happy Shopping!
Poor Pink! I sometimes get that look too, when I offer new treats.
Sarah really looks wonderful - I really like the colors in it. And Market is scaring the pants off me. I've seen a few things and came across a few more today - UGH!! I'm sure there will be more starting up next week. I don't know if my pocketbook can take it - and I'm suppose to be on a stash diet!
Sarah looks fabulous. I love those pink roses with that blue ribbon. I am anxiously awaiting some pictures all the new releases. I have seen a few, but I am sure there are many more than what I have seen. I like a lot of the same ones that are on your short list. My short list keeps getting longer. LOL! Sounds like you are going to have a very fun Saturday next weekend.
A yellow Pink...can't blame him for saying no to the marigolds. :)
Have a great week ahead! Update us on your shopping adventure. :)
Just popping in to say hello! Huggles.
Sarah is just gorgeous-what beautiful colors and your stitching is perfect! Love the pendants too-so neat.
YUM! We'd scarf up that meal - nice job.
Pink does look a little underwhelmed with the hay/petal combo. Rose petals are Freckles' favorite. Haven't ever tried Marigold.
I see most stitchers don't seem to care so much about food .. but my goodness - I better let BL take a look at that plate of goods. It's a beaut and was sounding so healthful until the cheese part!!! :<)
Let's see about good old Pinky there.
Hi again Glenna,
Could you email me sometime this week? I have a question about one of the designs that I'd like to ask you about.
Thanks!

Lovely stitching! Your meal looks very tasty too, it's definitely gettign to the time of year for dumplings! Timothy hay with petals, that sounds sweet...
Oh so pretty!!
The new releases are stunning. Just "WOW" and wow again, like some overaged Valley Girl. LOL. Nothing for me at this time, though. Must wait ....
GOod Morning Glenna!
Happy Monday! Sarah is just lovely -the colors look wonderful on the fabric you chose. The little pendants are so pretty - I may have to add those to my list.
While your food looks great, I really like your dishes! What pattern is it?
The market - so many beautiful things to choose from.
Enjoy your week.
Sarah looks beautiful! I love the colors. So many amazing new releases at market - how ever am I going to afford all the ones I want? Better question may be how ever am I going to stitch all the ones I want??
Ummm, please do NOT say that there is a hidden iceberg of good stuff just awaiting us! I'm almost hoping that everything else I see will be ugly. LOL Like that will happen--NOT! ;) I have some stuff preordered and am just going to try to tell myself that I will work on them and then buy more. Yeah, I know, probably won't work but I can hope. :D I'm with Melissa, envious of anybody able to see Market releases in person. I can't wait to hear your report.
Your Sarah is coming along so nicely! Love the colors in it.
Well, good for you for planning to call in sick!!! I'd do the same if I could! Hey, once I went to a sale at my LNS in my pajamas, just because I'd get an extra 10% off if I showed up for the first hour of the sale in my PJs. I even shaved my legs. Is that dedication or what?! Now just make sure that you post right away to show what you got! Say hey to Ellen & Patricia for me, too. Lucky lucky lucky. :)
The embarrassment of choices is what causes "startitis" here - a myriad of started projects, plenty of WIPs on raverly, and bags to accommodate them... Lovely pendants by the way, one with a rabbit would be fantastic!
I have never seen hay mixed with flower petals - I don't know what my two will think of it, since they snub nasturtiums (leaves and flowers) but go and nibble at the jasmin bush - go figure!
Pink is adorable as always :)
And foodwise - it is always no meat for me here, but Mr D gets usually a different dish anyway, meat and fish, that's his stuff. No comment.
Such pretty progress, Glenna!! And YGG, on the special dinner, it looks so yummy!!
Chedder dumplings. I have only ever made plain dumplings would love to know how you makes these. Looks yummy :)
