Strawberry Fluffernutter

Greetings, all! Wednesday is Prince Spaghetti Day in New England, which is also the home of the fluffernutter. I happened to notice at the local Shaw's where I shopped yesterday that Marshmallow Fluff now comes in strawberry and raspberry. Get ready for stitch night: I'm making Rice Krispie Treats with the strawberry fluff. Here you have the ingredients for the fluffernutter sandwich; all that's missing is the squishy white bread (preferably "Bunny Bread").

Speaking of strawberry fluff, here's a photo of the cutest bunny that I took at the MSPCA shelter today. We stopped by to see if there were any small adoptable dogs (there weren't). My dad took a fancy to a cat that he's considering, and while he was occupied in the cat room, I got into mischief with the bunnies. The white bunny (official name: Winter) was the most engaging little thing. He nibbled my fingers, he peered and peeked at me, and he did everything but print up a little sign asking to go home with me.

Here he is, snuggling with his mom, Sydney, but still looking at me. Tom, is now a good time to ask for another bun? Probably not. Elvis has been hell on wheels, and it hasn't helped that I have had to stay out of town extra long when my cold took a nasty turn. Antibiotics have me back on track though, so I'm heading home tomorrow. Dad, waving goodbye, gratefully: "Bye! Next time just push me down the stairs!"

Here's what I've been working on the last couple of days. More writing on Peaceful Paradise.

And a rosebud on Lois Minshall.

We went to the beach in Chatham today (the banner photo) and out to lunch for a seafood casserole. Then on to the shelter.

One last glimpse. I'd have to call him Fluffernutter of course.

See you in a couple of days with more WIPs and new starts--I'm on the road tomorrow.

ooooohhh Fluffernutters----- I remember eating those at Grandmas!!! Love them. My favorite though, it crunchy peanut butter and the regular white fluff. I might have to try the other 2 flavors! Looks like progress is being made on your WIPs-- excellent! Cant wait to see more :)

I didn't know that they made Strawberry!! My BIL is going to be in pig heaven. I have to ship him the regular stuff a couple times a year because they don't have it in California. He's going to be over the moon.

And your stitching, as always is wonderful. You sure get my creative juices going every time I see what you're working on.

I've never heard or seen this fluff stuff. Interesting. I think fluffernutter is a perfect name for a bunny though and that is one cute bunny! Great stitching!

Don't know what a fluffernutter is, but it sounds close to a term for my A-fib. That bunny is calling your name. He'll never be the same. Have a safe trip.

Check your bag carefully! - or not =:<)

Better get to scooting on the fluffernutter, I hear the Wonder bread folks are bankrupt.

Oh my gosh--I think I'd be smuggling home that bunny & hoping Tom wouldn't notice something white hopping by him. ;)

I feel so un-American by saying that I have yet to understand the pull of Fluffernutter. I think it's the one thing I've stuck to out of the foods my mother refused to buy when I was younger. LOL

Beautiful progress on your samplers! Safe travels home!

Should I tell you that I'd never had a fluffernutter until recently? Sad, isn't it, how deprived I've been. Glad you're feeling better and able to head back home soon. Beautiful progress on both pieces!

Peaceful Paradise looks so great, and what a lovely rose you added to Lois. I can never say which of your samplers I love best. Can you? They are all so beautiful.
