...but stitchers can live it all year long through their stitching!
This is Cross-Eyed Cricket's "The Dickens, You Say!" I started it sometime in early 2009, I think. I got pretty far, then the project bag with the fibers disappeared. Like most of X-Eyed Cricket's designs, it's charted for DMC, but somehow I had the great idea to change some of the fibers to overdyed cottons, and with the bag gone and not having jotted down the changes, I've been out of luck. Or at least, too lazy to research what I might have used--until now. Seems a shame not to finish it up. This is a cute design that I'd like to frame for Christmas next year. I believe I am using 32 count Lakeside in Pear (or vintage pear).
This is where I left off when I last stitched on it, around 2010. Not a good representation of the colors. The photo above is better.
The verse refers to "A Christmas Carol," by Charles Dickens, of course.
"God bless us, Every One."

I love this design! You're making great progress! Hope you have a very happy new year Glenna!!
Don't you just hate when you change the colors and don't bother to write the info down? Makes me mad...how hard can it be?
This will be a cute finish.
Love it!!!! Glad you got it back out :-).
Nice!! Such a bummer about losing the fiber bag and not knowing what you used. I hope you figure it out... :(
Oh I have done that, too. How frustrating. But you're making great progress now! :D
So pretty! You have a head start for Christmas this year!
Cute design!

lovely stitching! Elvis looks super furry in that photo!
Is Elvis giving you attitude or does he always look ready to rumble?
This is one of my favorite Christmas quotes - I stamp it on the back of all my Christmas cards every year (not sure anybody notices, but I know it's there). I like the color changes, hope you can figure them out (or find the fiber bag) easily.
A very lovely Christmas design. Cross-Eyed Cricket has some really great designs. I hope you can finish this one. Are you sure that the bag with the fibers is definiteyl gone? Sometimes I find things in places where I would never have thought that I placed them.
Oh I love this one! Glad you're making progress on it again, but how frustrating to lose your project bag! Happy New Year!
