Washington Wednesday

I've got to tell you: I have wanted to stuff this project in a drawer lately and start something else. Why? Because it's almost done, and I'm apparently secretly opposed to finishing things. Commitment problems? Not me--just ask my boyfriend of 15 years! Pink Dress looks a little like an alien now, doesn't she? I was going to stitch Roswell alien eyes on her, and then decided I didn't want to frog them back out. She needs some hair still, and so does he. Should be done tomorrow...maybe.

I asked myself on the way to work this morning: Can I actually finish this project and move on, and I got an answer immediately. I should have asked something harder.

Isn't this a nice, serene early-morning shot of the Lincoln Memorial from the bus window? As you can imagine, though, DC is anything but serene these days. In fact, it's Crazy Town. The Pres-Elect and his family are staying in a hotel nearby, and the secret service has shut down the surrounding streets, which has a huge impact on traffic. You may have heard the controversy over the fact that they're slamming the bridges shut between Virginia and DC on Inauguration Day. That's ok with me; I'm going to be home, warm and cozy and working on my newest stitching project while a zillion people get in line for the porta-potties. Our office is always closed for inaugurations, since we're across the street from the White House, and it is difficult to get to our building through security.

You bunny owners know what Pink's doing here, don't you?

Pink: "What!? I'm just looking in my pocket for my cell phone!"

"I'm busy chewing my lucky rabbit foot."

I can't wait to see the finished project. You can't quit now while Pink Dress has no hair!

I think it's just easy to become bored with big projects as they wear on. It's hard to keep that same excitement and momentum.

I bet DC is crazy town nowadays...in more ways than one perhaps?

Sampler aliens? You are too funny. I agree with you though. I always think that the wee people in the Brenda Keyes samplers are rather odd looking, in a charming way, of course.

It's the stitching people thing. Remember our conversation? Plow through the "whatever is keeping you from finishing" stage...it looks great and you are this close.

I can only imagine how crazy DC gets around inauguiration time. I'd stay home too.

I like the vertical cat, goes with alien theme. Yes, always ask the hard questions. I recently received a message from beyond the grave tucked in boyfriend's library book...........

Your WIP is coming along nicely! Even when Pink Dress has her hair, we'll know she's an alien underneath!

Our bunny asked for an iPhone for Christmas. Now I know who she's been texting!

You can do it! Finish Finish Finish!

Does that help?

DH works at the State Dept and gets to stay home on Tuesday, while I have to go to work and NOT take the beltway to get there. Won't that be fun?!

We want to see it finished. We want to see it finished.

Yes You Can! (That lady does look a bit alien...can't wait to see what she looks like with hair!)

Washington DC must be a pretty exciting place to be right now. We're thinking about ya!

That is a gorgeous sampler! You have to finish it!! It's about at that stage where I feel like I'm hyperventilating my way to the finish line. It'll be fabulous when it's finished!

Pink is just being a healthy bunny!

The other week I had to have some copies of a document made to mail to people. The shop made me an extra one which I did not discover until a couple days later. "Why did that happen?" I asked. Today I discovered that one of the copies I mailed had a totally screwed up adress on it and would never be found!

The "Yes You Can" made me laugh out loud!! I am sure your area is bustling with activity right now.
Your WIP looks great! Give Pink Dress some hair. :) I love your rabbits. I always look forward to their antics on your blog. Thanks for reading and posting on my blog. :)
