A Little July Left

I'm not sure I'm going to get this finished by the end of the month. I've been spending time with the Needleprint project and I'm rolling downhill to the end of the semester which means a paper for one class, a cost accounting project for the other class and neither one started to date. Bah. Looks like I'll be indoors a lot this weekend after a quick trip to the farmer's market tomorrow. My approach is to write (or calculate) a section for a paper, then stitch one thread. Or two, if it's going well. Maybe three if it's going badly. I get lots of stitching done when I write papers.

I got a little stash from ebay and I'm feeling uncertain about it. This is an OOP Goode Huswife. I don't think she's re-released this one--yet. I really wanted it based on the little ebay picture. It was OOP! It was Goode Huswife! I love GH! I've never seen it stitched though and the picture on the chart isn't very clear because it's a bit dark. Have any of you stitched this? I'd love to see a picture of it finished.

This came in the same batch. It's a Scarlet Quince design, which seems to operate much the same way HAED does. Has anyone done an SQ design, and were you happy with it? The picture on the front of the package is blurry (pixels instead of stitches). Both projects seem so dense with stitching--I guess I have enough on my plate right now, hmmmm?

Here's the progress on Peachy-Dandy's project.
Peaches: "It's a fleur de lys!"

We said goodbye to Hans, the bunny, this week. His mom is grieving most terribly, and all of us are sad for her. Hug your loved ones--furry or otherwise--extra long tonight.

I am so sorry to read about Hans, how beautiful your rabbits are. I just discovered their blog and my granddaughter has just discovered rabbits. We went to a fair yesterday and she just fell in love with every rabbit there. I will have to read up more on them but I can see bunnies in my future.
I love your stitching so very pretty and that GH design I have seen before but can't remember where or when, its very nice, but then I do love all the GH's.

Good Bye Hans...

He was a big I-net favorite, Hans was!

Peachy view of Peaches!

Thanks goodness you don't take a big sip of whiskey after each stitch and paper paragraph!

Love to hear about your creative procrastination while you're working on your term papers! Poor Hans...bunnies have such delicate constitutions...and his poor mom, to have him pass so unexpectedly like that. At least she was there with him at the time.

So, I was leaving this very long comment when my youngest unplugged the computer. My backup battery doesn't backup, so 'whoosh' - blank screen. Grrr. The joys of parenthood. LOL.

Anyway, I've never seen this GH and I'm really terribly curious how yours will look as you stitch it. Always great to discover a new one by her! :)

I've long admired the SQ designs, but at the pace I stitch, one alone would last me to the grave. Since I don't want to dwell on my own mortality, I've found it better not to buy any of their designs. :0

Good luck with all your upcoming schoolwork. As much as I loved it at the time, I cannot imagine going through it at this stage in my life. Yikes. Love your method of stitching in between stages of work! :D

Best wishes for Hans in the Great Hereafter.

Hope you finish your PS July piece by the end of the month! No biggie if you don't though. You have a lot going on! I love that GH piece but have never seen it stitched up. It's definitely one I'll have to keep an eye out for. That other piece is gorgeous too -- I bet both will be beautiful. Yes, lots of stitching involved in both! Sorry to hear about Hans.

Hey Glenna, both of the charts are great. Lots of solid stitching. The GH one would be stunning over one.

Poor Hans! I'll keep his people in my prayers. I know how hard it is to lose a loved one, furry and otherwise.

I love your creative way of still getting in your stitching time. Your July looks great! I can't wait to see the new PS charts.

I've only ever seen that GH Peaceable Kingdom on Ebay, I've never seen it stitched up. I know GH Anne also hasn't released it again, either. It's interesting, too, because I ONLY see it on Ebay sold by one seller--I'd love to know where she found her stash so I could go there, too! LOL I have watched it but the bids are usually too high for me to justify. Love the other piece, too!

I love the colours in PS' July. The design looks so lively and fun.

I'm sorry to hear about Hans. Hug your bunnies.

Sorry about Hans, it's never easy to lose a furbaby. We are down to one rabbit now, Tober. We had Annabelle bunny for about 8 years before she crossed the bridge....

Your PS sampler is just beautiful, I love this design!

I do recall seeing that GH chart in the LNS back when I first worked there (several years ago), but that was before I really loved her designs, so I never bought it. Now of course, it's been OOP and HTF and all that. I'd love to see yours stitched up. The other chart you got is great too!

Good luck with your school work!

I think you should drop everything else and stitch that adorable bunny! I'm sure Artist Peaches thinks so, too.

I'm sure going to miss photogenic little Hans and all his antics and cute facial expressions.

You are my kind of paper writer. :) July looks great! You are almost finished. I have not seen that particular GH before, but it looks interesting. I think those always look better stitched IRL than the picture on the cover. I like all the little animals peeking out here and there. I am sorry about Hans, and feel bad for her. It is hard to lose someone you love. Good luck on your paper and assignments. Peaches is so adorable.

Stitch away! sounds like a it is good balance for paper writing, or anything else for that matter. I'm with BG stitch the bunny......Peaches is quite the crafty bun, thanks for sharing her work. Ah, yes, Hans we will all miss him......

I love that PS design so much - I need to add it to my to-stitch list next summer - so fun to stitch, I would imagine.

I have the Peaceable Kingdom and enjoy working on it very much--I'm about half way done with the border. I've seen it finished and it's gorgeous...not dark at all. The finished, framed piece is what inspired me to get it. It's OOP as someone else already commented.

SQ charts are dense but quite beautiful worked up. Very labor intensive just because of the size, but I think the one you have is a small one. So enjoy.

LOVE LOVE both of these patterns - I really love SQ - I have several of their patterns... I'm either an optimist or deranged. :)
