Sarah and Lucky and Mary Beth

Greetings, all! I've been suffering from stitchers' ADD, so I've been jumping from project to project when I stitch at all, but I've finally settled back into working on Sarah Hatton McPhail. I WILL get her finished, and I WILL frame her this year. (I've heard if you visualize accomplishing something, you're more likely to accomplish it. I am visualizing every last stitch done, and handing her over to Karen at In Stitches, and selecting a linen mat and a nice gold frame. Yes.) Since I love before and after pictures, here's where she stands as of half an hour ago.

This is what she looked like in January.

A sad note tonight. Our friends at the House of Rabbits have lost a dear one, Lucky, a sweet lop-eared rabbit. Our hearts go out to Rabbits Guy and Bunny Lady.

Speaking of pets, we have been feeding a couple of stray kitties outdoors, and this lady has shown up lately to eat the leftovers. Meet Mary Beth. Isn't she lovely?

Here she is, in all her loveliness. I particularly like her little hands and feet. Possums are interesting to watch (and she's quite unafraid of the camera flash or the sight of me watching her through the window) and our critter control guy said that they're great cleaner-uppers and don't carry a single disease, so they're actually beneficial to have around. Not everyone likes their grins, of course, but she can't help that.

Off I go to get ready for the week!

Your Sarah is gorgeous! Love her! Possums just make me think of the time when I was little and our dog attacked a possum in our back yard, He killed the poor thing, but not before the possum took a piece out of his side. As a result, I tend to freak out when I see possums. lol!

Oh thanks for the Lucky thought. He was special.

You MUST show us the finished piece there .. that will be truly great!

We have a possum now and then. Cute fellow but awful low on the food chain ...

Sarah is beautiful! I love the picture of Mary Beth. Years ago we had a possum that came regularly to our back porch. We named her Penny. She visited for about a year.

And here I'd always thought it was bad to have possums around - of course, with chickens it would be. But I thought they were a source of disease. Thank you so much for setting me right and ridding me of a prejudice! :D

Sarah is stunning. :)

Sarah looks great. Mary Beth certainly looks happy and healthy - the ones around our house are rather scrawny.

So sorry about Lucky.

Happy to read something nice about possums - they get such a bad rap. Mary Beth is a sweetie!

Lovely stitching, as usual.

Love your sampler!!

I have a baby possum coming around my deck to eat the cat food I leave out for the strays. One night I saw it - then I saw it again - then I saw double! I realized there were twins! Too cute!

They are interesting creatures. However...have you ever watched that show on cable called Infested! Several episodes featured opossums "infesting" homes. I don't want to "argue" with a professional but ANY mammal can carry rabies and all can be crawling with mites, lice and fleas!

Love your Sarah. She is really stunning. Your possums are so much different from our possums. We have then outside in the garden at night time. They quite often run across the roof above our bedroom. Often see them walking very slowly along the electric wires, then across the roof and then down a tree outside my Son's bedroom.

Sarah M is so pretty. Love love love those pink roses! I hope you get her finished soon too.

Hmmm, never seen a possum up close. They kinda freak me out...rodent like with that tail! ;-)

ps saw a bunny freebie the other day, was going to email you but forgot...maybe coming at you soon!

Love, love, love Sarah Hatton McPhail. I would love to stitch that design someday, but right now, I will enjoy stitching it vicariously through you. :) Beautiful design!

Not a fan of possums. We had one get in our house once upon a time... I did not realize they have a positive purpose so maybe that will give me a little different outlook. LOL!

Blinking, smiling and swinging your arms when you walk are all unconscious acts that are a normal part of being human. In Parkinson's disease, these acts tend to be diminished and even lost. Some people may develop a fixed staring expression and unblinking eyes. Others may no longer gesture or seem animated when they speak.
