Sampler Houses

Lots of foliage. Again, I lost the light before I shot the photo.

I was out wandering through Fredericksburg with my camera, enjoying the fresh air today and taking photos of some of the homes in the historic district. I look for interesting sampler-type houses, particularly if they are dressed for Christmas. Let's start with this one, although it's not exactly dressed for Christmas. Perhaps it's dressed for Valentine's day or a really raucous New Year's--the kind where you need to get out the Pepto Bismol the next day. Yes--Pepto Bismol.

This is a very nice classical brick house with a nice metal roof. I think the wreath is too small though. I like the way the basement windows meet the sidewalk and have little half shutters, as if the whole thing is being swallowed by the earth.

Here's a cutie. There are several of these, painted different colors. This guy is maybe 15 feet wide

Pink wants to know what's wrong with having bright pink shutters--he thinks every house should have some pink.

Happy week ahead!

Love these house pics, especially the brick with the metal roof, how unique! And you are right on, call it the Pepto House or something!

Pink is right, ther should be a little Pink everywhere. Love that little narrow house, we have one like that downtown, it's bright green, I just love it!!

Love the tree and the tour! And I am with Pink, pink houses are my favorite. My grandma lived in a pink house :-).

OH boy BL is on the Pink campaign - the Pink line sold by Victoria Secrets and marketed to younger girls - I suspect she'll be unloading on the Top Victoria before long. (I kinda liked the catalogue ... ermmm)

Your Pink is perfect!

Pink is correct as usual. One of my favorite houses is purple stucco with lime green trim; it has a life size pink flamingo in the window, cats, and a yard full of flowering shrubs.

Of course Pink is right! How could anyone argue with a face like that!

Pink is completely right, of course. There was once a house here in Houston, in a very upscale neighborhood, that was all pink, including the fence!

Lots of foilage, but it's pretty and looks fallish. Always enjoy your house pictures.

Wonderful houses! I dunno about the pink one though...but at least it was only the trim and not the entire thing!

Nice progress pic, Glenna!

I love the house pics, too. The pepto house reminds me of when we moved into this neighborhood. The houses were newly built and they alternated pink and yellow. We moved into a yellow house and talked about buying one of the other houses. My son was horrified at any mention that we might buy one of the pink houses--not thinking it could be painted. To his relief, we ended up buying one that had been painted a tan color. ;)

The more I see of Katherine, the more I love it. But that's the same with all the samplers you show here, lol.
Love the houses your show. Completely different from what you see over here. Some of them remind me of the houses in one of Prairie Schooler's charts, Christmas Village. There's a house just like the one with the wreath. Just with a bigger wreath, lol.
