Having heard much about the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, the rabbits were curious. Since Amtrak was full, the rabbits couldn't get to New York, so we tried to recreate the float experience for them at home.
"Hmmm. What is this?" *Thump*
"Look! It's the Thanksgiving Squirrel!"
"This tether thing worries me. It looks a little flimsy. I don't like the way it floats around and bumps into stuff. I'm officially alarmed."
"There's more than one way to skin a cat!"
"Pardon me? What a rude remark!"
When I left the room to get the camera, Elvis was busily chewing on the balloon tether. Before I could return, I heard a volley of thumps from all three rabbits.
When I returned to the room, the Thanksgiving Squirrel had been liberated and was resting politely on the ceiling, and the rabbits had stretched out to enjoy each other's company. They are thankful for each other, and for the Craisins they will enjoy later. And I am thankful for all my friends! Happy Thanksgiving, All! Thank you for stopping by to see us!
Also, our local newspaper had this very sweet and funny story about a local turkey who was supposed to become dinner, but became a family pet instead.

I hope the bunnies enjoyed their Rabbit's Thanksgiving. :D Have to agree with them -- the tethering on those floats can be very doubtful. lol! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving too! (Yum, Japanese food!)
How funny! Leave it to the rabbits to find a way around whatever sort of order we try to bring to their world!
And I love that pic of the three of them snuggling together!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
Happy Thanksgiving Glenna! That last picture of them snuggled up together is priceless.....
Awww, a squirrel balloon! And you bought them craisins for Turkey Day. You are such a great room-mate!
Happy Thanksgiving, Glenna!
Happy Thanksgiving Glenna. Love the snap of the bun bun pile. Cute squirrel.
Now that's a tribun bond, do you need a crow bar to get them apart?????
Oh what a positively precious bunny pile up photo of three buns in a rug! Isn't Pink's "Gotcha Day!" coming up any minute now? You have done such a wonderful job getting these three to all mesh into such a fine little trio. You must have the magic touch!
Wonderful photo of snuggling bunnies! And well done Elvis on untethering that rather threatening looking float
Oh what utter, fuzzy cuteness. :D Thanks for a GREAT Thanksgiving photo. :D
