Vacation III

I finished up my homework surprisingly early today, so now I'm free for the week. I celebrated by planting my butt on this sofa most of the day. Note the books, calculator, etc. Also note the stitching project bags. That's Sarah McP. in the center. And note my four stitching buddies (look carefully for the feet of #4 stitching buddy sticking out from under a table). Very peaceful, and very productive, but now I have that stale, unexercised feeling you get after eating a large meal or sitting all day. Plus I could use a shower.

I got a third rose completed on Sarah. I'm excited about getting to the river, but I have a large thicket of trees and bushes to pass through first. My goal by the end of the week is to splash around in the river.

I want to thank Kellie at The Stitching Post for alerting me to this sampler. It's called the "Swan Pond Sampler," and it's from the Knoxville EGA. It's particularly meaningful to me because I spent a very happy time at UT's library school. Even all these years later I hum "Rocky Top" in the fall. I'd love to retire in Knoxville or thereabouts. Anyway, Kellie and I purchased this from the Dixie Darlin' needlework store in Pigeon Forge. I called them, and they couldn't have been nicer. It's charted for DMC, but I'll probably do a conversion.

Off to take my shower!
"Phew. I smell something!"

Later!

You are so welcome, Glenna! I am so glad that you got a copy and that it is meaningful to you. I think I have told you before that the cover photo does not do this any kind of justice. It is such a beautiful sampler IRL. The ladies at the Dixie Darlin' are sweethearts. I visited with them several times on my vacation. It is a favorite spot that I love to go when we are in the area. How fun for you...getting your homework finished early and getting to take some time to enjoy a day of leisurely stitching. I love all the feline friends curled up here and there to keep you company. Do the kitties and the bunnies get along well with each other? Enjoy your upcoming trip. It sounds like a lot of fun!!

I love the sampler! We too visit TN - we lived in Knoxville for 2 years - attending grad school - our officesbeing in the stadium we heard Rocky Top many times! We then lived in Nashville for 5 years. This past August while on vacation, I found Dixie Darlin' and it was a great little shop. Next time we go, I'll have to stop again and look for this sampler!

The view from the top! That's cute looking down at your little stitching retreat with your 4 furry buddies! I love the roses on Sarah.

I really like that sampler too. I was writing down the name then told myself to STOP! I don't have to have it, do I?

Happy Stitching!

How come you have dead cats scattered about your living room? Looks like a crime scene in there. LOL

Nice work! Where are your bunny stitching helpers?

Oh... I know... bunnies don't help humans with stuff... we are busy you know. Rabbit things. Very important.

Love the Swan Pond sampler and your Sarah McPhail is so pretty too.

Glad you are having a good vacation and your homework is done! Hope you get lots and lots of stitching time.

I had no idea you were so be-catted! They outnumber the bunnies, which must be a source of lagomorph curiosity, since who would want more cats than rabbits?
