I take back what I said about the shoveling not hurting; I went out last night at 8 p.m., and again at midnight to scoop and fling. This morning I was sore, but I picked up the shovel again and worked at it for about 2 hours. Made a dent, but now it's snowing harder than ever. We've got about 18 inches so far and it shows no signs of slowing. All over the neighborhood you can hear people scooping and grunting "Huh" as they toss it--it's heavy stuff. Nothing to do for it but go in for breakfast and stitching.

After shoveling last night, because I wasn't sleepy, I did some homework and then sat up until 4 a.m. and stitched. I got quite a bit done ("Holy Moses"). Like the shoveling though, it's a bigger task than it looks.

Elvis and Peaches have invited me to lie down with them; they've promised to groom my ears. Looks pretty comfy!

Happy day, all!
I think that Peaches and Elvis have the right idea! After all that shoveling, you definitely need a nap! Love your start on Holy Moses! I think that is the greatest chart!
ReplyDeleteLook at all that beautiful snow!
ReplyDeleteI love your start on Holy Moses - very pretty!
The bunnies look so content.
Ohhh I remember those days of "Stoop,Fling,Huh" LOL and the fter affects
ReplyDeleteA nap is a good Idea I am sore just thinking about your shoveling LOL
Enjoy your rest and happy stitching Holy Moses is coming along nicely.
We live in Tysons and we have at leats 16"!! I wish we had a fenced in area so we could let our bunny, Tuz, out to play!
ReplyDeleteWe can't even get to the yard - too high! DH and Ben went out again this morning to shovel and DH is still out there - I keep checking out the window to make sure he is still upright! Ben came in and Zack and I were only out a few minutes - Zack couldn't even walk in the stuff - this is A LOT of snow!!!

Elvis always cracks me up! Having both of them groom your ears would make for a good photo for next time. What say you, Glenna? ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks beautiful...from here. Be careful you don't hurt my back! Take care.
I got tired of the heaving and ho-ing with shoveling, so one year a while back I got us a heavy duty snow blower. Much easier on the back! lol! I just looove your Holy Moses! OMG!!! Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWow, look at all that snow!! I hope you keep warm and cozy and agree with everyone that you should take a nap! Sounds tiring!
ReplyDeleteLove the progress on your Holy Moses!
Oh, the buns are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe all the snow you are getting out there. Here on the West Coast winter has been like Spring. Very odd....
I need a nap too! I shoveled for three hours - just enough clear of the driveway for hubby to get in after work - then he can take the boys out later to do some more cleanup.
ReplyDeleteIt does take it out of a person, doesn't it? We haven't had a snowfall like that, but the first few times I shovelled, I sure felt it afterwards!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing stitching progress!
I'm just downstairs from a lay-down with Spin the cat on my chest. Now that's a great warmth!
he bunnsers have the right idea!
ReplyDeleteListen to the bunnies - they know!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all that wet cold stuff. Snow is pretty, but it sounds like an inconvenient hassle.
Here's hoping you're not one of the thousands here w/ no power!! I seriously feel your pain re: the soreness... :( It's the only thing I don't like about snow - the dig out! Your progress on Moses is wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe if you quit shoveling it, it would quit falling. Just sayin'
ReplyDeleteIt's probably Obama's fault.
Bunns have it made!!!
The bunnies are just too precious! And all that beautiful snow should certainly mean wonderful spring flowers.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're getting pounded with snow---again! My DB & SIL live in MD, and they're going through it, too.
ReplyDeleteHoly Moses is looking wonderful! I'm gonna hafta get that for my stash!
We missed the BBQ snow-gauge report!
ReplyDeleteYou all did great there getting supplies laid-in and such.
Now we hope everything is recovering well ... so you can get out for more TREATS!!!
