Pink!

I've made a little progress this weekend on "Wisdom."

Here are 2 cuts of Lakeside I received recently. The ivory-colored one is Maritime White; the hot-pink one is called Vintage Wild Rose. It's pinker than I realized when I ordered it, but I really like it. Now to find just the project for it.

This is the chart I based my banner photo on. It's "Thistle House" by Ewe & Eye & Friends. I stitched it for a round robin, so I don't have the finished product any more. I changed the design to fit the block I was stitching. The little black bunny was not originally part of the design. It's a Just Nan bunny--she charts bunnies well--and I stitched him in honor of my bunny, the Bunnyman, who had died the previous year at a fine old bunny age of 10.

The Bunnyman (1997-2007), dashing around the dining room right after we moved in. He was blind at that point from cataracts, but he still enjoyed a good run.

Pink says "Happy week ahead, all!"

  1. I love that little blue house appearing on Wisdom. And I like the LL linens. Not sure what I would do with the pink one either, but it is beautiful, and I am sure you will find a great project for it.

  2. Glenna - great progress on Wisdom. The colors in this one are wonderful.

Oh those fabrics are great - I look forward to seeing what you do with the pink - some Valentines pieces?

Thistle House - I'll have to add that one to my 'want list'. Your addition of the bunny in honor of Bunnyman is a wonderful little tribute.

    Enjoy your week.

  3. Thistle House is beautiful and how sweet that Bunnyman is stitched in your version. I think Pink is probably delighted you picked Vintage Wild Rose - it matches her eyes so nicely!

  6. Ok, it takes me a while -- I just realized what the Wisdom Sampler is. lol! It's so pretty -- and I love that sampler!!! ugh! Those linen colors are quite different from each other, aren't they? I think the pink one will be fun to use! I love that Thistle House design -- and you're right, JN does do good bunnies. 10 years -- that's a ripe old age for a bunny! Wow!

  7. Thanks for the Bunnyman story and pic. How cool that you honored him by including him in your stitchery!

And hello, Pink. You're looking handsome as ever!

  8. I love your progress on wisdom sampler. I also really appreciate the pics of the fabric. I have been wanting to get a piece of Maritime white but I did not need another piece of too white linen. That helps a lot. The pink is nice too, I am a pink person color wise.
The little bunny is the perfect personalization for your pieces.

  16. Lovely stitching, Glenna! That pink Lakeside would be great for one of the Valentine (or the Valentine, not sure if there's more than one...) BOAF. Or maybe the Valentine Blue Ribbon ornament designs. It's a pretty color! Love the pics of your Bunnyman.
