And then came to the realization that this entire band is made up of eyelet stitches as well. (Fabric: Picture This Plus in Legacy 40 count, using the charted AVAS fibers).
So mid-week, to take a little break, I started "Town House Sampler" by Brenda Keyes of The Sampler Company. I'm using my favorite go-to fabric (again, PTP in Legacy, 40 count), and I did a little conversion from the DMC to silks--a combination of AVAS and NPI from my stash. I'm happy to say there are no eyelet stitches in this sampler! It's also not huge, as you can tell from my progress of not quite a week.
And here we have ten pounds of bun in a five-pound box. Just before I shot this I saw little Peaches try to squeeze herself into this box as well. There just wasn't room, so she went off to the corner to pout.
Peaches is happier now; I went out into the garden and gathered some salad for the bunnies.
Happy week ahead!
It looks like your thread choices are alot more muted than the chart pic, i'm sure it will turn out lovely.
ReplyDeleteThose eyelets may be time consuming but you're doing a lovely job. It looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteooo love it:) and really love the Brenda Keyes one too ... lovely colours .... bun rabs are adorable even from the back view hehehe :) love mouse xxxx
ReplyDeleteThat really is a lot of eyelets, but it sure looks beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteDorothy is gorgeous! That's a whole lot of eyelets though! lol! Love the Brenda Keyes piece too. And the buns are so cute together. :D
ReplyDeleteThat's way too many eyelets doe me. It is gorgeous. The bunnies are as cute as ever.
ReplyDeleteDorothy is really looking good. I hope my new camera takes photos as nice as yours. But then again, those close ups of mine would show the outline of holes around my eyelet and satin stitches. I have a problem with tension. All kinds. Your tension and stitches are so perfect. Maybe on 40 count there's not room enough for holes!!
ReplyDeletethose eyelets are very nicely stitched.
ReplyDeleteThe eyelets look great. Nice work on both pieces.
ReplyDeleteGive Peaches a hug for me!
There's a whole lotta eyelets going on. I don't mind a few...
ReplyDeleteIt will be worth the effort though, it's truly a beautiful sampler.
I need to stitch a Brenda Keyes soon. It's been awhile.
Your stitching is beautiful!!! I want to give your bunnies a hug... Pat
ReplyDeleteDorothy looks fabulous. It's been noted that on the original sampler the band was stitched in rice stitch, not eyelet stitch. Perhaps Marsha wanted to save a bit on the amount of silk needed... I don't know. But, I think I'll stitch that band in rice stitch.
ReplyDeleteI like the Brenda Keyes sampler too.
Poor Peaches was feeling left out... I can understand why there was some pouting going on. lol
Wow you have some GORGEOUS projects going!! :D
ReplyDeleteLove the bunny salad. Made a few pounds of that for the chickies this past weekend, too. :D
Just beautiful! Can't wait to see the finishes!
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine stitching those eyelets....
ReplyDeleteThank goodness Peaches got over her pout, garden goodies are always mood elevating around here too.
Oh boy - a bunny buffet!!!
ReplyDeleteGads - our garden areas are still just dirty puddles.
I love the eyelets stitch! I also love stitching them too, but not that many in a sampler... lol That sampler is beautifu! I also see that Sarah is coming along so pretty. The bunnies are so cute !!
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful sampler, Glenna, but those eyelets would drive me insane, too. I recently saw a version of Dorothy where the eyelet stitches were replaced with rice stitches (was it The Attic Newsletter?). Those looked good, too! Great new start, by the way.
ReplyDeleteDorothy looks gorgeous so far, but I don't think I could cope with that number of eyelets :) I shall just admire your progress from afar instead.
ReplyDeleteDorothy looks great! Love the colors and those eyelets!
ReplyDeleteCute pic of the buns too!
Goodness, that is a lot of eyelet stitching! It looks great though.
ReplyDeleteOh how I love Dorothy and she's right up there on my list to work on, but goodness that's a lot of eyelets. I don't mind doing them, but they are time consuming. Love your new start too. I've wanted to start a piece by Brenda for a long time. So many projects, so little time!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how they want to be in the same spot???
ReplyDeleteLove your Dorothy and Town House samplers too :-).
Hmmm...time-consuming eyelets and salad-consuming bunnies make for an interesting post.
ReplyDeleteDo you suppose that stitching eyelets will help you see better, like carrots help bunnies? Or are you going to go blind stitching all those? Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove your stitching and Love your bunnies. Your posts always make me happy!! Have a wonderful week Glenna. Warmest Hugs
ReplyDeleteGosh that is a lot of eyelets to stitch! It's looking great though.
ReplyDeleteLovely new start!
Wow - all those eyelets are going to be amazing when they're done - but wow, what a task! Love the Brenda Keyes chart - great start - and a good break from the eyelets.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of eyelets! I would have a hard time powering through those. It is looking so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm not fond of doing eyelet stitches but yours look great. Both pieces look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of eyelet stitches, but won't that sampler be a gorgeous finish! Town House is very pretty too and looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteHi bunnies!
I get easily tired of eyelets too - but they're beautiful. Great stitching as always!
ReplyDeleteI have done those eyelet alphabets and yes they take awhile to stitch but they look great don't they? That is one of the smaller Brenda Keyes charts I've seen - I have several I want to stitch but they are big and I can't start any more big projects right now. :) Love the pics of the bunnies enjoying a snack.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine doing all those eyelets. You must be very determined.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like you may have caught Elvis and Pink plotting some trouble....
Love all the eyelets, Glenna! Great new start on the BK chart, as well.
ReplyDeleteThe buns are SO cute!
Oooo, you are brave with those eyelets. I am always dissatisfied with my eyelets and I usually end up replacing them with Smyrna crosses!
ReplyDeleteCute bunny butts stuffed in the box!
Glenna, your eyelets look beautiful, in spite of how tedious they are !!!! I love how Dorothy is looking ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour eyelets look great, Glenna! It sure is a lot of them but it will be worth the effort when they're done. Lovely the Brenda Keyes sampler, too!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was at the vet with Bruiser McFluff last week, there was a woman there with her rabbit. I instantly thought of you. :)
Dorothy is gorgeous! Eyelets aretime consuming but you're doing a lovely job of it!
