Pedal to the metal: Sarah McPhail. It's interesting that with the addition of the square stitch in pink on the top row and gold on the bottom row, the blue--which is the same blue in each row--looks different. The rope-y looking divider row was interesting to do, and easier than it looks. It's a row of long-arm crosses in tan. Then diagonal stitch in blue. And finally stem stitch in gold along the top and bottom. The speed of it makes up for the toil over the individual script letters.
I'm having a blast doing this sampler.
Peaches has made progress on her project and has sent you a little heart.
One of the ladies--Sarah, Sarah, Dorothy or Christinia--and I will be lunching later this week. Join us! (Can you tell that things are quiet at work? Ah, August--vacation time for lawyers in DC.) Happy week ahead!
Humm, the Lemon Drop sounds interesting...maybe add a little less vodka or add some lemon-lime soda? I'm not fond of over-strong drinks either.
ReplyDeleteCute Peaches. Keep us updated on the escape attempt!
Your sampler is looking lovely. The four sided stitches are really cool.
Sarah is looking lovely, Glenna!
ReplyDeleteAlthough the drinks look yummy, my days of over-strong drinks are over...although I still have a soft spot for Bellinis!
Enjoy your August!
Oh, man that drink looks soooooo good on a hot day like today!
ReplyDeleteI'll take 2, thank you....LOL

It's so nice to be able to see how Sarah looks stitched up! I'm loving her -- still waiting for mine to show up. :(
ReplyDeleteSarah looks fabulous! I love all those specialty stitches.
ReplyDeleteCocktail of the week??? Now - that is an idea I can get on board with! They looked beautiful even if it was too strong. I am really and truly in love with your Sarah sampler..... must resist... too many projects already....
ReplyDeleteI am loving your weekly cocktails-I may have to try this one! Beautiful stitching too!
ReplyDeleteThe lemon drop looks good, I really want to try it out myself, but I must get some pretty glasses first!

Oh Glenna, Sarah is so pretty. I just love specialty stitches.
ReplyDeleteI am determined to have a stash sale before I buy anymore samplers.
Wish I could join you and Sarah for a stitching lunch - looks like we are in for a heatwave this week.
Such a beautiful sampler. Great progress.
ReplyDeleteThe Lemon Drop does sound quite interesting. - Sandra.
Like I said before, I wish we were neighbors. I'd be sitting on that deck of yours every day waiting for my cocktail to be served. It's interesting to see Sarah up close. I'll look forward to seeing her come alive. Glad you are enjoying the process.
ReplyDeleteYour sampler is looking lovely! i'd probably like an unvodka version of that drink...hey, that's fresh lemonade! Don't forget, DC Restaurant Week is coming up...good time to go out for lunch!
ReplyDeleteThat lemondrop looks heavenly, I would love to try one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments on my blog, you are so sweet. We will get you hooked on redware yet. LOL

Thank Peaches for the heart! LOL
ReplyDeleteThose stitches are so neat, Glenna!! Glad you are having fun with it, that means really good progress on said sampler!
Boy am I behind in my blog commenting, trying to get a little caught up now. Sorry for missing some of your posts, but I did read and check out the pictures. You have been a busy girl of late!
Oh my gosh, those lemon drop drinks look SO good!!! YUM-O!
ReplyDeleteYour sampler looks fabulous. Love the close up of the stitches. The colors are wonderful in it--much cheerier than a lot of samplers are sometimes!
Peaches is doing a fine job there.
ReplyDeleteHi, Glenna! I just dropped in to congratulate you on your new namesake at Bright Eyes! :)
ReplyDeleteRegarding the Glenna bunny, don't discount her looks. I mean, there's the ear thing (poor baby) but other than that, she looks a lot like my Tid when I first rescued her from the county shelter. She was quite the ugly duckling and turned out to be a swan in disguise. I wish I lived close enough to adopt Glenna-bunny, lease and spouse be damned! ;)
